{"id":1335,"date":"2024-07-03T09:05:08","date_gmt":"2024-07-03T12:05:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/penedocityoffilm.com\/?p=1335"},"modified":"2024-07-03T09:06:43","modified_gmt":"2024-07-03T12:06:43","slug":"cine-penedo-reopening-strengthens-the-economy-in-unescos-creative-city","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/penedocityoffilm.com\/index.php\/2024\/07\/03\/cine-penedo-reopening-strengthens-the-economy-in-unescos-creative-city\/","title":{"rendered":"Cine Penedo reopening strengthens the economy in UNESCO\u2019s Creative City","gt_translate_keys":[{"key":"rendered","format":"text"}]},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The reopening of Penedo\u2019s first Cinema is an historical mark at the recently selected city to be part of UNESCO\u2019s Creative Cities Network.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Not operating commercially since 1962, and eventual use on the firsts editions of the Cinema Circuit, in the 1970 decade, Cine Penedo resumed its film projection on this Monday, 13, Penedo\u2019s Cinema Circuit 2023 Edition first day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Remodeled to be modernized, the cinema\u2019s room relaunched with two \u2018mini docs\u2019; the first being about the Penedo\u2019s candidacy to UNESCO\u2019s Creative Cities Network, and the second being about the relationship between Penedo\u2019s people and Cine Penedo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following up, the Cinema and History Special Session exhibited the long films; Phantom Portraits &#8211; Movie selected to represent Brazil at this year\u2019s Oscar &#8211; and The Hijacking of Flight 375.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>During the reopening ceremony, Mayor Ronaldo Lopes shared the feeling of happiness of the people of Penedo who are proud of the recovery of yet another public space that strengthens the creative economy of the city that represents Brazil, together with Santos-SP, in the global network of UNESCO in the cinema category.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe are the only city in Alagoas being part of UNESCO\u2019s Creative Cities Network and the second in Latin America with Cinema seal. Penedo has it, it\u2019s not \u2018the city who had it\u2019, or \u2018the city that will have it\u2019 anymore.\u201d pointed out Ronaldo Lopes, thanking the support of all the institutions involved in the work.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Given to UFAL, Cinema Penedo was recovered with resources from Rouanet Law, through BNDES, institution which also represented in the ceremony by Jana\u00edna da Silveira. She highlighted that the growth in the economy needs to be followed by the growth of cultural public policies, a situation that is occurring in Penedo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Melina Freitas, SECULT Alagoas gestor, represented the Governor Paulo Dantas, praising the cinema&#8217;s room quality, being superior to most the majority available in the state, frising that the Cinemas reopening is a mark to the Brazilian audiovisual. \u201cPenedo already is a development hub to culture, and the creative economy\u201d, affirmed Melina reinforcing Paulo Dantas\u2019 commitment to Penedo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The same commitment with the support to the continuity of the actions developed at the city, came from the Secretary of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education, Denise Pires de Carvalho.
